Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act. Requires the Secretary of State to convert into electronic format and to post on his or her web site statements of economic interests filed with the Secretary. Removes the requirement that persons be notified when their filed statements are viewed.

	SB 1873 has a fiscal impact of $101,000 on the Secretary of State's office.

	State Debt Impact Note (Economic and Fiscal Commission)
	This legislation would not change the amount of authorization for any type of State-issued or State-supported bond, and, therefore, would not affect the level of State indebtedness.

Further amends the Illinois Governmental Ethics Act. Changes the information required on statements of economic interests with respect to (i) the identity of professional service and lobbying clients of the filer, (ii) the filer's positions in business entities, (iii) other units of government that have employed or elected the filer, and (iv) the filer's personal financial accounts. Requires that the filer include the interests of his or her spouse and certain dependents. Makes other changes.
