Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Counties Code. Provides that the electors of a county may, by binding referendum, reduce the size of the county board to a number of not less than 17 members. Provides that if the referendum is passed, then the county board must use the reduced number of county board members as the size of the county board the next time that it reapportions the county. Applies only if the Illinois Constitution is amended to allow the number of members of a county board to be fixed by county-wide referendum.
