Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the General Assembly Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Allows former members who have not yet begun receiving a retirement annuity to establish credit for up to 2 years of prior military service. Extends to July 1, 2004 the period during which that credit may be established without payment of amounts representing employer contributions. Effective immediately.

	Pension Note (Pension Laws Commission)
	The fiscal impact of HB 1362 cannot be calculated, as the amount of military service credit that would be established during the window is unknown. There would be a fiscal impact, as the employer contribution is waived if the military service is established prior to July 1, 2004.
