Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the State Employee and Downstate Teacher Articles of the Illinois Pension Code. Extends eligibility for participation in the early retirement benefit program until June 30, 2003; includes certain former employees who have been terminated without cause. Effective immediately.

	Pension Note (Pension Laws Commission)
	The fiscal impact of HB 356 has not been calculated, but SERS reports that over 23,000 members were eligible to participate in the ERI created by Public Act 92-0566 while 11,200 participated in the program. The actual impact of the ERI on SERS liability has not yet been determined.
