Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the School Code. In provisions concerning the Alternative Teacher Certification Program and the Alternative Route to Teacher Certification Program, provides that if a person holds a substitute certificate, the number of hours that he or she has taught as a substitute teacher shall be counted towards the number of hours of practice teaching required in the first phase of either program. Effective immediately.

House Amendment No. 1
Changes the amendatory language to provide that if a person has served as a certified substitute teacher, the number of hours that he or she has taught as a substitute teacher shall be considered towards the number of hours of practice teaching required in the first phase of the Alternative Teacher Certification Program or Alternative Route to Teacher Certification Program.
