SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Officer Jason P. Roscow of North Las
4Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Prairie du Rocher, who lost his
5life in the line of duty on February 4, 2025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Jason Roscow was born in Belleville to Ervin and
7Ann Roscow on October 23, 1978; he grew up in Prairie du
8Rocher, where he was affectionately known as "Peco" by his
9friends and family; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Jason Roscow demonstrated a commitment to service
11from a young age, volunteering as a firefighter for the
12Prairie du Rocher Fire Department; after graduating from Red
13Bud High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force,
14where he served in the security police and was stationed in
15locations worldwide, including South Korea, Iraq, and Kuwait;
16and
 
17    WHEREAS, Jason Roscow continued his dedication to
18protecting others following his military service by becoming a
19police officer with the North Las Vegas Police Department,
20where he served honorably for 17 years; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Jason Roscow was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post

1#6632 in Red Bud and American Legion Post #622 in Prairie du
2Rocher; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Jason Roscow was widely regarded as a protector,
4a friend to all, and someone deeply committed to his community
5and country, and his passing is a profound loss to his family,
6friends, fellow officers, and all who knew him; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Jason Roscow was a beloved father to his two
8sons, Graysen and Andrew; he was cherished by his parents,
9Ervin and Ann Roscow; his siblings, Bridget Rider, Amy Owen,
10and Michael Roscow; his nephews, Chris Hanger, Zachery Rieke,
11Dylan Roscow, and Samuel Roscow; his nieces, Jessica DuFrenne
12and Jennifer Schreder; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins,
13great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
15ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
16Officer Jason P. Roscow and extend our sincere condolences to
17his family, friends, and colleagues; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Jason Roscow as an expression of our
20deepest sympathy and gratitude for his dedicated service.
