2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Officer Jason P. Roscow of North Las |
4 | | Vegas, Nevada, formerly of Prairie du Rocher, who lost his |
5 | | life in the line of duty on February 4, 2025; and |
6 | | WHEREAS, Jason Roscow was born in Belleville to Ervin and |
7 | | Ann Roscow on October 23, 1978; he grew up in Prairie du |
8 | | Rocher, where he was affectionately known as "Peco" by his |
9 | | friends and family; and |
10 | | WHEREAS, Jason Roscow demonstrated a commitment to service |
11 | | from a young age, volunteering as a firefighter for the |
12 | | Prairie du Rocher Fire Department; after graduating from Red |
13 | | Bud High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, |
14 | | where he served in the security police and was stationed in |
15 | | locations worldwide, including South Korea, Iraq, and Kuwait; |
16 | | and |
17 | | WHEREAS, Jason Roscow continued his dedication to |
18 | | protecting others following his military service by becoming a |
19 | | police officer with the North Las Vegas Police Department, |
20 | | where he served honorably for 17 years; and |
21 | | WHEREAS, Jason Roscow was a lifetime member of V.F.W. Post |

3 | | WHEREAS, Jason Roscow was widely regarded as a protector, |
4 | | a friend to all, and someone deeply committed to his community |
5 | | and country, and his passing is a profound loss to his family, |
6 | | friends, fellow officers, and all who knew him; and |
7 | | WHEREAS, Jason Roscow was a beloved father to his two |
8 | | sons, Graysen and Andrew; he was cherished by his parents, |
9 | | Ervin and Ann Roscow; his siblings, Bridget Rider, Amy Owen, |
10 | | and Michael Roscow; his nephews, Chris Hanger, Zachery Rieke, |
11 | | Dylan Roscow, and Samuel Roscow; his nieces, Jessica DuFrenne |
12 | | and Jennifer Schreder; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, |
13 | | great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it |
14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | Officer Jason P. Roscow and extend our sincere condolences to |
17 | | his family, friends, and colleagues; and be it further |
18 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
19 | | presented to the family of Jason Roscow as an expression of our |
20 | | deepest sympathy and gratitude for his dedicated service. |
