2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened | ||||||
3 | to learn of the death of Cheryl Lynn (Dolderer) Shultz of | ||||||
4 | Harrisburg, who passed away on December 15, 2024; and | ||||||
5 | WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz was born to Richard J. and Dorothy | ||||||
6 | (Stefanovits) Dolderer in Northlake on February 7, 1956; she | ||||||
7 | graduated from Barrington High School in 1974; she later | ||||||
8 | graduated from Southeastern Illinois College (SIC) in 1991; | ||||||
9 | she married John Shultz on August 15, 1992; she earned a | ||||||
10 | bachelor's degree in education from Southern Illinois | ||||||
11 | University Carbondale in 2003, graduating summa cum laude; and | ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz worked in retail sales and | ||||||
13 | management from 1981 to 1989; after earning a degree in | ||||||
14 | education, she worked as a special education teacher for | ||||||
15 | Harrisburg Unit 3 School District for 14 years; after her | ||||||
16 | retirement, she taught at New Hope Christian Academy from fall | ||||||
17 | 2018 to spring 2020; she continued tutoring and substitute | ||||||
18 | teaching, mainly for Harrisburg Unit 3 School District, and | ||||||
19 | she also served as an adjunct instructor of mathematics at SIC | ||||||
20 | for six years; and | ||||||
21 | WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz was committed to her faith and a | ||||||
22 | member of Aldersgate Global Methodist Church in Marion, where |

1 | she was a member of the church choir and the chime choir; and | ||||||
2 | WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz loved cross-stitch and needlepoint; | ||||||
3 | she was proud of her Chicago roots and was a devoted Chicago | ||||||
4 | Bears and Chicago Cubs fan; she was an excellent cook and | ||||||
5 | baker, and she enjoyed hosting family dinners; she also loved | ||||||
6 | working jigsaw puzzles with her dear friends at the Harrisburg | ||||||
7 | District Library; and | ||||||
8 | WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz was a loving and devoted wife, | ||||||
9 | mother, grandmother, sister, and friend; and | ||||||
10 | WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz was preceded in death by her | ||||||
11 | parents; and | ||||||
12 | WHEREAS, Cheryl Shultz is survived by her husband, John; | ||||||
13 | her children, James (Susan) Cirigliano and Kathryn (Riley) | ||||||
14 | Swinford; two grandchildren; her siblings, JoAnna Hosch, Rick | ||||||
15 | (Denise) Dolderer, and David (Nicole) Dolderer; her faithful | ||||||
16 | companions, Finn and Henry; and several nieces, nephews, and | ||||||
17 | friends; therefore, be it | ||||||
18 | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL | ||||||
19 | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of | ||||||
20 | Cheryl Lynn (Dolderer) Shultz and extend our sincere | ||||||
21 | condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved |

2 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
