SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Larry L. Wenger of Smithton, who
4passed away on December 30, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Larry Wenger, the son of Francis Louis and Clela
6Pauline (Godwin) Wenger, was born in Jonesboro on January 24,
71941; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Cindy (Ring)
8Steelman at Beech Grove on December 26, 1998; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Larry Wenger worked as an inspector for the U.S.
10Department of Agriculture until his retirement; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Larry Wenger cherished spending time with his
12wife and his horses, including camping, traveling, or trail
13riding; his love for the outdoors and equestrian pursuits were
14an integral part of his life; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Larry Wenger was known as a kind, gentle man who
16always had a smile on his face; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Larry Wenger was preceded in death by his
18parents; his infant sister, Phyllis Wenger; and his
19brother-in-law, Jim Brown; and

1    WHEREAS, Larry Wenger is survived by his wife, Cindy
2Wenger; his sons, Larry Dean (Cheri) Wenger, Gregory (Heather)
3Wenger, and Jeffery (Jessica) Wenger; his stepchildren,
4Albert, Mike, Jerry, Perry, Dana, Daman, and Rachel; four
5grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; six
6step-great-grandchildren; his sisters, Irma Kelly-Brown, Joyce
7Boyer, and Debbie (Steve) Halderman; and his brother, Terry
8(Debbie) Wenger; therefore, be it
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
11Larry L. Wenger and extend our sincere condolences to his
12family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Larry Wenger as an expression of our
16deepest sympathy.
