SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of William H. "Bill" Wilkinson of
4Wyoming, Illinois who passed away on November 29, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson was born to Harold and Betty
6(Graves) Wilkinson in Kewanee on September 16, 1942; he
7graduated from Wyoming Community High School in 1961; he
8served in the U.S. Army, and he was stationed in Iran during
9the Vietnam War; he was awarded a National Defense Service
10Sharpshooter (rifle) Medal for his service; he married Susan
11C. Hill on June 26, 1971; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson worked as a diesel mechanic for
13Caterpillar, Inc. for 35 years; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson belonged to the Chillicothe
15Sportsmen's Club, where he enjoyed volunteering and shooting
16his weekly target practice; fishing was another of his
17lifelong interests; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson's skills in carpentry, plumbing,
19welding, farming, gardening, and working on electrical and
20mechanical projects kept him busy on his farm and with helping
21his friends and family; and

1    WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson was preceded in death by his wife;
2his parents; his sister, Becky (Steve) Bogner; his niece,
3Jennifer Wilkinson; his nephew, Michael Kenyon; and his
4brothers-in-law, Ed (Pat) Borop and Melvin "Lyle" (Chris) Hill
5II; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Bill Wilkinson is survived by his children,
7Christina (Jim) Lauwerens, Anita Wilkinson, and Raymond
8(fiance Robin) Wilkinson; five grandchildren; his siblings,
9Jim (Barb) Wilkinson, Jeanette Wilkinson, Pat Borop, Rhonda
10Wilkinson, and David Wilkinson; and many nieces, nephews,
11great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14William H. "Bill" Wilkinson and extend our sincere condolences
15to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
16it further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Bill Wilkinson as an expression of
19our deepest sympathy.
