SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ruth Ann Pride of Otwell, Indiana, who
4passed away on December 29, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ruth Pride born in Evansville, Indiana to William
6and Mary Risley on December 2, 1940; she graduated from Otwell
7High School and the Deaconess School of Nursing; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ruth Pride worked as a registered nurse at Good
9Samaritan Hospital and Golden Living before moving to home
10health as a visiting nurse; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Ruth Pride was a member of Contenders of Faith
12Church and enjoyed birdwatching, photography, genealogy,
13flowers, and spending time with family; her grandchildren were
14her pride and joy; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Ruth Pride was preceded in death by her parents;
16her son, David Pride; her brother, Lt. Col. Dan Risley; and her
17sister, Martha Risley; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Ruth Pride is survived by her husband of 63
19years, Jerry Pride; her daughter, Sherry (Scott) Christianson;
20her son, Stephen (Kris) Pride; her daughter, Amy (Chuck) Card;

1her daughter-in-law, Laura Pride; her grandchildren, Daniel
2Pride, Elizabeth Buemi, Nicholas Pride, Rachel Kaiser, Matthew
3Kaiser, Kayla Elliott, Michael Pride, and Gillian Card; three
4great-grandchildren; her brother, John Risley; and her sister,
5Kate Williams; therefore, be it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Ruth Ann Pride and extend our sincere condolences to her
9family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
10further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Ruth Pride as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
