2025 and 2026 SB1755 Introduced 2/5/2025, by Sen. Elgie R. Sims, Jr. SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: | | | Amends the Department of Human Services Act. Provides that to ensure Illinois parents with children, including foster parents and parents of adult children with intellectual or developmental disabilities, can easily access all publicly available information on State resources for parents, as soon as practicable the Department shall maintain a publicly accessible webpage on its official website that lists each child care, early child care, education, nutrition, mental health, housing, family planning, cash assistance, health care, and any other program or service for parents operated by the Department or another State agency, including, but not limited to, the Department of Healthcare and Family Services, the Department of Children and Family Services, the Department of Early Childhood, the Department of Public Health, the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, and the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice. Provides that the webpage must include for each listed program and service a hyperlink to a publicly viewable webpage that is operated and maintained by the State agency responsible for administering the program or service and that includes additional information and resources on the specific program or service. |

2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 5. The Department of Human Services Act is amended |
5 | | by adding Section 1-100 as follows: |
6 | | (20 ILCS 1305/1-100 new) |
7 | | Sec. 1-100. Centralized list of State resources for |
8 | | parents. To ensure Illinois parents with children, including |
9 | | foster parents and parents of adult children with intellectual |
10 | | or developmental disabilities, can easily access all publicly |
11 | | available information on State resources for parents, as soon |
12 | | as practicable the Department shall maintain a publicly |
