| Amends the Intergovernmental Law Enforcement Officer's In-Service Training Act. Provides that, to be eligible to receive State funds, a Mobile Team In-Service Training Unit must provide a part-time police training course at least every 12 months in a manner approved by the Illinois Law Enforcement Training Standards Board. |

1 | | AN ACT concerning local government. |
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 5. The Intergovernmental Law Enforcement Officer's |
5 | | In-Service Training Act is amended by changing Section 4 as |
6 | | follows: |
7 | | (50 ILCS 720/4) (from Ch. 85, par. 564) |
8 | | Sec. 4. State Funding-Minimum Criteria. A Mobile Team |
9 | | In-Service Training Unit which meets the minimum criteria |
10 | | established in this Section is eligible to receive State funds |
11 | | to help defray the costs of operation. To be eligible a Mobile |
12 | | Team must: |
13 | | (1) Be established and operating pursuant to the |
14 | | Intergovernmental Cooperation Section Article VII, Section 10, |
15 | | of the Illinois Constitution of 1970 and must involve two or |
16 | | more units of local government including at least one county |
17 | | and the Board. |
18 | | (2) Establish an Advisory Board composed of elected local |
19 | | officials and chief law enforcement officers from |
20 | | participating units of local government and the Director, |
21 | | Chairman or appointed member of the Board to oversee the |
22 | | operations of the Mobile Team and make such reports to the |
23 | | Board as the Board may require. |
