2025 and 2026 SB1506 Introduced 2/4/2025, by Sen. Paul Faraci SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED: | | | Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that the Secretary of State may issue special registration plates designated as Dolly Parton Imagination Library license plates. Provides that an applicant for the special plate shall be charged a $35 fee for original issuance in addition to the appropriate registration fee; of this fee, $25 shall be distributed to The Dollywood Foundation and $10 shall be deposited into the Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund. Provides that for each registration renewal period, a $25 fee, in addition to the appropriate registration fee, shall be charged and distributed to The Dollywood Foundation for use by the Dolly Parton Imagination Library of Illinois. |

1 | | AN ACT concerning transportation. |
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding |
5 | | Section 3-699.26 as follows: |
6 | | (625 ILCS 5/3-699.26 new) |
7 | | Sec. 3-699.26. Dolly Parton Imagination Library license |
8 | | plates. |
9 | | (a) The Secretary, upon receipt of all applicable fees and |
10 | | applications made in the form prescribed by the Secretary, may |
11 | | issue special registration plates designated as Dolly Parton |
12 | | Imagination Library license plates. The special plates issued |
13 | | under this Section shall be affixed only to passenger vehicles |
14 | | of the first division, motorcycles, autocycles, or motor |
15 | | vehicles of the second division weighing not more than 8,000 |
16 | | pounds. Plates issued under this Section shall expire |
17 | | according to the multi-year procedure established by Section |
18 | | 3-414.1 of this Code. |
19 | | (b) The design and color of the special plates shall be |
20 | | wholly within the discretion of the Secretary. Appropriate |
21 | | documentation, as determined by the Secretary, shall accompany |
22 | | each application. The Secretary may allow the plates to be |
23 | | issued as vanity plates or personalized plates under Section |
