HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Mary
4Colleen Kilbride of Pontiac, who passed away on January 20,
52025; and
 
6    WHEREAS, Colleen Kilbride, the daughter of Emmett and
7Eileen (Dunn) Coughlin, was born in Streator on May 28, 1928;
8she married Leo Kilbride in Kinsman on June 17, 1950; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Colleen Kilbride was the manager of the Kankakee
10County Mutual Fire Insurance Company, and she worked at
11Kankakee Community College and the Kankakee Clinic of the VA
12Hospital in Dwight; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Colleen Kilbride was a parishioner at St. Joseph
14Catholic Church in Bradley and St. John Paul II in Kankakee,
15and she was president of the Altar and Rosary Society at St.
16Teresa's Catholic Church in Kankakee; she was a member of the
17Tuesday Book Review, the St. Joseph Council of Catholic Women,
18and the Provena St. Mary's Auxiliary, where she served as
19secretary, and she was a volunteer at Provena St. Mary's
20Hospital; she was an associate with the Servants of the Holy
21Heart of Mary for 20 years; and

1    WHEREAS, Colleen Kilbride enjoyed playing bridge and
2dancing; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Colleen Kilbride's greatest joy came from
4practicing her faith and spending time with her family; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Colleen Kilbride was preceded in death by her
6husband, Leo; her parents; her sisters, Rita Slattery, Joann
7Turner, and Joyce Louis; and her brothers-in-law, Robert
8Slattery, Thomas Slattery, and Elwood Pfeifer; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Colleen Kilbride is survived by her children,
10Judith (Gary) Donze, former Illinois Supreme Court Justice
11Thomas (Mary Jane) Kilbride, Joseph (Joanie) Kilbride, and
12Mary Pat (Jim) Scoltock; her siblings, Dolores Slattery, Betty
13Pfeifer, and William (Carole) Coughlin; her brothers-in-law,
14Joe Louis and Ken Turner; 13 grandchildren; eight
15great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many
16nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; therefore,
17be it
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
19HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20we mourn the passing of Mary Colleen Kilbride and extend our
21sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew
22and loved her; and be it further

1    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2presented to the family of Colleen Kilbride as an expression
3of our deepest sympathy.
