| 4 | | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE |
| 5 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the |
| 6 | | electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general |
| 7 | | election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption |
| 8 | | of this resolution a proposition to amend the Preamble to the |
| 9 | | Illinois Constitution as follows:

| 12 | | We, the People of the State of Illinois - grateful to |
| 13 | | Almighty God for the civil, political and religious liberty |
| 14 | | which He has permitted us to enjoy and seeking His blessing |
| 15 | | upon our endeavors - in order to provide for the health, safety |
| 16 | | and welfare of the people; ensure access to education, |
| 17 | | employment, food, healthcare, housing, and transportation; |
| 18 | | maintain a representative and orderly government; eliminate |
| 19 | | poverty and inequality; assure legal, social and economic |
| 20 | | justice; provide opportunity for the fullest development of |
| 21 | | the individual; insure domestic tranquility; provide for the |
| 22 | | common defense; and secure the blessings of freedom and |
| 23 | | liberty to ourselves and our posterity - do ordain and |
