| | | Amends the Public Higher Education Act. Provides that if a student resides with a parent in the State and that parent is an active military member at the time the student enrolls, registers, or submits an enrollment deposit to a public institution of higher education in the State, the student shall be guaranteed the in-State tuition rate for the entirety of the student's enrollment at that public institution of higher education regardless of whether the parent is later reassigned to military service that relocates the parent outside of the State. |

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Public Higher Education Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 13 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 167/13 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 13. In-State tuition guaranteed for children of |
| 8 | | active military. If a student resides with a parent in this |
| 9 | | State and that parent is an active military member at the time |
| 10 | | the student enrolls, registers, or submits an enrollment |
| 11 | | deposit to a public institution of higher education in this |
| 12 | | State, the student shall be guaranteed the in-State tuition |
| 13 | | rate for the entirety of the student's enrollment at that |
| 14 | | public institution of higher education regardless of whether |
