SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 


    Appropriates the sum of $4,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for grants to certified convention bureaus for the development of tourism, education, preservation, and promotion of the 100th anniversary of Route 66, of which not more than $500,000 shall be used for marketing expenses. Appropriates $1,000,000 from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for expenses relating to the Route 66 Centennial Celebration in accordance with the plan developed by the Illinois Route 66 Centennial Commission. Effective July 1, 2025.

1    AN ACT concerning appropriations.
  
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3represented in the General Assembly:
 
4    Section 5. The sum of $4,000,000, or so much thereof as may 
5be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to 
6the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for grants 
7to certified convention bureaus for the development of 
8tourism, education, preservation, and promotion of the 100th 
9anniversary of Route 66, of which not more than $500,000 shall 
10be used for marketing expenses.
 
11    Section 10. The sum of $1,000,000, or so much thereof as 
12may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue 
13Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity 
14for expenses relating to the Route 66 Centennial Celebration 
15in accordance with the plan developed by the Illinois Route 66 
16Centennial Commission.
 
17Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 
182025.
