1 | | AN ACT concerning civil law. |
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the |
5 | | Illinois Right of Conscience Act. |
6 | | Section 5. Legislative Intent. It is the public policy of |
7 | | Illinois that every person has the right of conscientious |
8 | | refusal to speak, create art or crafts, perform or participate |
9 | | in any way in any particular form of services contrary to his |
10 | | or her conscience. |
11 | | Section 10. Immunity. No person may be civilly or criminal |
12 | | liable for a refusal to speak, create art or crafts, perform or |
13 | | participate in any way in any particular form of services |
14 | | contrary to that person's conscience. |
