Requires the Department of Public Health to ensure that pediatricians ask about the presence of guns in homes and distribute safe gun storage information to individuals with guns in a home with a child. Effective January 1, 2026. |

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Public Health Powers and |
| 5 | | Duties Law of the Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 | | amended by adding Section 2310-238 as follows:

| 8 | | Sec. 2310-238. Safe gun storage; pediatricians. The |
| 9 | | Department shall ensure that pediatricians ask about the |
| 10 | | presence of guns in homes and distribute safe gun storage |
| 11 | | information to individuals with guns who reside in a home with |
| 12 | | a child.

| 13 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January |
| 14 | | 1, 2026. |
