SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Ellen K. Schwab of Reddick, who passed
4away on December 31, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab was born to William and Margaret
6(Komnick) Joyce in Kankakee on July 31, 1956; she married
7Charles C. Schwab III in March 1984; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab worked as a media aide and was
9responsible for running literary programs at Reddick
10Elementary School, Herscher Elementary School, and Bonfield
11Elementary School; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab loved reading, spending time with
13her grandchildren, and hiking, and she was especially proud of
14completing a section of the Colorado Trail; she was a foodie
15who enjoyed cooking and sharing that passion with her sons,
16and she was an animal lover; she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan
17who attended 24 Cubs conventions and enjoyed taking her sons
18to opening day games when they were younger; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab was preceded in death by her parents
20and her son, Joseph W. "Chef Joey" Schwab; and

1    WHEREAS, Ellen Schwab is survived by her husband of 40
2years, Charles; her son, Cliff (Malinda) Schwab; four
3grandchildren; and her sisters, Sue Joyce and Gail Joyce;
4therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Ellen K. Schwab and extend our sincere condolences to her
8family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
9further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Ellen Schwab as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
