SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Richard Lee Eagleson of Howe, Indiana,
4who passed away on December 12, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Eagleson was born to Simon Everett and
6Audrey (Mehl) Eagleson in LaGrange County, Indiana on July 22,
71931; he graduated from Mongo High School, now known as
8Springfield Township High School, in Springfield Township,
9Indiana; he married Phyllis Kocher at the Stroh Church of God
10in Stroh, Indiana on November 10, 1975; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Richard Eagleson began working at the Indiana
12Toll Road in 1963, retiring in 1994; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Eagleson was a member of the National
14Rifle Association (NRA) and the Northeastern Indiana Coon
15Hunters Association, and he was a lifetime member of the
16Treeing Walker Breeders and Fanciers Association; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Richard Eagleson loved coon hunting and Treeing
18Walker Coonhounds; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Richard Eagleson was preceded in death by his
20parents; his daughter, Rhonda Eagleson; his stepson, William

1Bates; his sisters, Donabell Huff, Maxine Bolin, and Kate
2Gravit; and his brothers, Donovan Eagleson and Wayne Eagleson;
3and
 
4    WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Richard Eagleson was
5survived by his wife, Phyllis; his son, Ross (Martha)
6Eagleson; his stepdaughter, Kimberly (Terrence) Cross; eight
7grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
10Richard Lee Eagleson and extend our sincere condolences to his
11family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
12further
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14presented to the family of Richard Eagleson as an expression
15of our deepest sympathy.
