2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Paul A. Schneider Sr. of Joliet, who |
4 | | passed away on April 16, 2023; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Schneider was born to Michael and Shirley |
6 | | (Nink) Schneider in Joliet on November 3, 1934; he graduated |
7 | | from St. John the Baptist Grade School and Joliet Township |
8 | | High School; he served in the U.S. Navy; he married Concetta |
9 | | "Connie" Albert on November 3, 1956; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Paul Schneider was known as "Joliet's Door Man", |
11 | | operating Paul A. Schneider Co., Garage Doors & Electric |
12 | | Openers in Joliet from 1972 to 1993; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, After retiring, Paul Schneider and Connie |
14 | | traveled around the country in their RV for two years before |
15 | | settling in Florida; they returned to Joliet to be nearer to |
16 | | family in 2008; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Paul Schneider was ordained as a lay deacon for |
18 | | the Joliet Diocese in 1988; he served at St. John the Baptist |
19 | | and Holy Family Parishes in Joliet, and he additionally served |
20 | | at Blessed Sacrament Parish in Clermont, Florida; and

1 | | WHEREAS, Paul Schneider had several passions, including |
2 | | taking his family on incredible adventures around the country |
3 | | and abroad, photography, flying his airplanes, and his faith; |
4 | | and

5 | | WHEREAS, Paul Schneider was preceded in death by his |
6 | | parents; his sister, Norma Jean Gage; and his brother, Richard |
7 | | J. Gage; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Paul Schneider is survived by his wife of 66 |
9 | | years, Connie; his children, Paul (Linda) Schneider Jr., Jean |
10 | | (Matt) Collins, Janet (William) Buss, and Michael (Carol) |
11 | | Schneider; his 12 grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren, |
12 | | with three more arriving this fall; his sister, Marilyn (Dr. |
13 | | Thomas) Price; his brother-in-law, Jack Albert; his |
14 | | sister-in-law, Norma Gage; and his many nieces and nephews; |
15 | | therefore, be it

16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
18 | | Paul A. Schneider Sr. and extend our sincere condolences to |
19 | | his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
20 | | further
