HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives wish to honor our colleague, State
4Representative Jenn Ladisch-Douglass, on her esteemed service
5as a member of the Illinois General Assembly and thank her for
6her dedication to the State and her community; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass was born outside of
8Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; she attended the University of
9Pittsburgh, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with
10honors for her double major in anthropology and classical
11civilization with a minor in political science before earning
12her Juris Doctor; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass moved to Elmhurst with her
14husband in 2004, where she practiced law before founding her
15own firm, Douglass P.C. in 2011; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass practiced law for more than
1720 years before announcing in 2022 that she would run to
18represent the people of the 45th District in the Illinois
19General Assembly; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass first entered state
21government as a citizen advocate, drawing on her own

1experience as someone living with type 1 diabetes to advocate
2for legislation controlling the cost of insulin; and
 
3    WHEREAS, While serving in the House, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass
4passed the very legislation that she championed as a citizen
5advocate, creating a new law capping the cost of a 30-day
6supply of insulin at $35; and
 
7    WHEREAS, Rep. Ladisch-Douglass has served with distinction
8as a member of the Small Business, Tech Innovation Committee,
9the Energy & Environment Committee, the Insurance Committee,
10the Public Utilities Committee, the Judiciary-Civil Committee,
11the Family Law & Probate Subcommittee, the Appropriations,
12Health & Human Services Committee, and the Appropriations,
13Public Safety Committee and as Sub Co-Chairperson of the
14Violence Reduction & Prevention Subcommittee; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE
16HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
17we congratulate Representative Jenn Ladisch-Douglass on her
18accomplishments, thank her for her service, and wish her all
19the best in her future endeavors; and be it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to Rep. Ladisch-Douglass as an expression of our
22respect and esteem.
