Provides that a State's Attorney in a county with a population over 2,000,000 may be recalled by petition and referendum of the electors of the county or counties served by the State's Attorney in a manner provided by law. Effective upon being declared adopted in accordance with Section 7 of the Illinois Constitutional Amendment Act. |

5 | | SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that there shall be submitted to the |
6 | | electors of the State for adoption or rejection at the general |
7 | | election next occurring at least 6 months after the adoption |
8 | | of this resolution a proposition to amend Section 19 of |

13 | | SECTION 19. STATE'S ATTORNEYS - SELECTION, SALARY |
14 | | A State's Attorney shall be elected in each county in 1972 |
15 | | and every fourth year thereafter for a four year term. One |
16 | | State's Attorney may be elected to serve two or more counties |
17 | | if the governing boards of such counties so provide and a |
18 | | majority of the electors of each county voting on the issue |
19 | | approve. A person shall not be eligible for the office of |
20 | | State's Attorney unless he is a United States citizen and a |
21 | | licensed attorney-at-law of this State. His salary shall be |
22 | | provided by law. A State's Attorney in a county with a |
23 | | population over 2,000,000 may be recalled by petition and |
