| Amends the College Student Immunization Act. Provides that, beginning with the 2025-2026 academic year, for any tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis (Tdap) vaccine requirement, if a student who enrolls in a post-secondary education institution cannot provide the dates of 3 or more doses of the Tdap vaccine, then the student may provide the date of at least one or more doses of the Tdap vaccine within one year prior to enrolling in the post-secondary education institution. Effective immediately. |

1 | | AN ACT concerning education. |
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly: |
4 | | Section 5. The College Student Immunization Act is amended |
5 | | by changing Section 3 as follows: |
6 | | (110 ILCS 20/3) (from Ch. 144, par. 2603) |
7 | | Sec. 3. Exceptions. |
8 | | (a) The provisions of this Act shall not apply to: (1) |
9 | | persons enrolled in a post-secondary educational institution |
10 | | on or before the effective date of this Act; (2) persons |
11 | | enrolled less than half-time during a term or semester; or (3) |
12 | | persons whose instruction solely involves research, field work |
13 | | or study outside of a classroom environment. |
14 | | (b) No proof of immunization shall be required if a |
15 | | physician licensed to practice medicine in all of its branches |
16 | | certifies that any immunization required by the Department is |
17 | | medically contraindicated. |
18 | | (c) No proof of immunization shall be required if the |
19 | | person or his or her parent or guardian presents a signed |
20 | | statement that he or she objects to immunizations on religious |
21 | | grounds. |
22 | | (d) The certificate of medical exemption or statement of |
23 | | religious objection required by this Section shall be |
