2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Mother Mary B. McKinney of Decatur, |
4 | | who passed away on December 31, 2021; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Mary McKinney was born to Belvy Manney and Connie |
6 | | (Green) Manney in Morrilton, Arkansas on July 20, 1926; she |
7 | | grew up in Arkansas and moved to New Madrid, Missouri in her |
8 | | adult life; she relocated to Decatur in 1975; she married |
9 | | William Junior McKinney, and he preceded her in death in 1989; |
10 | | and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Mary McKinney committed to her faith from an |
12 | | early age; she was a longtime member of the Church of the |
13 | | Living God P.G.T. Temple #3, where she faithfully attended |
14 | | until her health declined; and
|
15 | | WHEREAS, Mary McKinney loved gardening, planting flowers, |
16 | | studying her faith, listening to gospel music, and spending |
17 | | time with her family; she was affectionately called "Aunt Mary |
18 | | Belle" by many and "Granny Girl" by her great-granddaughter
|
19 | | Chermain; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, Mary McKinney was preceded in death by her |
21 | | husband, William; her parents; her siblings, Thaddeus Manney |
|

1 | | and Robert Harold Manney Sr.; her son-in-law, Lawrence Taylor; |
2 | | and her nephews, Junious T. Manney Jr. and Lance Manney; and
|
3 | | WHEREAS, Mary McKinney is survived by her children, |
4 | | Dorothy (Charles Sr.) Warren, Roy (Lynette) McKinney, Gladys |
5 | | Taylor, Raymond (Glanda) McKinney, Janice McKinney, William |
6 | | McKinney, Patricia (Roy) Dorsey, Ellen (Andra Sr.) Burris, and |
7 | | Rhonda (Allen) Taylor; her bonus son, Richard Moore-McKinney; |
8 | | her brother, Junious Thomas Manney Sr.; her brother-in-law, |
9 | | Charles (Jean) McKinney; her sister-in-law, Barbara Patterson; |
10 | | her 28 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, |
11 | | great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other |
12 | | relatives; therefore, be it

13 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED SECOND GENERAL |
14 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
|
15 | | Mother Mary B. McKinney and extend our sincere
condolences to |
16 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved
her; and be it |
