SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Don L. Gilmore of Pana, who passed away 
4on June 7, 2018; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Gilmore was born in Shelby County to James 
6Edward and Edith Stella (Mahan) Gilmore on January 6, 1929; he 
7was raised in the Ramsey/Herrick area, and he married Lorene 
8Lorton in Shelbyville on February 18, 1948; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Don Gilmore farmed in the Herrick area; he later 
10worked at Firestone and Christian County Housing Authority; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Don Gilmore was a member of the Church of Christ 
12in Herrick; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Don Gilmore was preceded in death by his wife, 
14Lorene; his parents; his six brothers; and his five sisters; 
15and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Don Gilmore is survived by his sons, Don "Donnie" 
17(Judy), Ron (Brenda), Kevin (Pam), and Brent (partner Anna 
18Strate) Gilmore; his daughters, Karen Braye and Brenda (John) 
19Kehl; his 12 grandchildren; his 17 great-grandchildren; and his 
20two great-great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Don L. Gilmore and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Don Gilmore as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
