|
2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Ayden Noelle O'Malley of Nokomis, who |
4 | | passed away on January 22, 2018; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Ayden O'Malley was born in Springfield to Dennis |
6 | | M. and Rosalind R. Johnson O'Malley on December 27, 2003; she |
7 | | was an 8th grader at St. Louis Catholic School (SLS), where she |
8 | | never missed the honor roll; she was a member of the SLS |
9 | | Children's Choir and often joined in singing during weekly |
10 | | masses and school masses; she was a previous member of the SLS |
11 | | Scholastic Bowl team, the Hawks basketball team, and the CHAOS |
12 | | youth group; she was a member of the Nokomis Lady Braves |
13 | | volleyball team where she played the libero position; she was |
14 | | also a 2nd baseman and center fielder for the Lady Braves |
15 | | softball team, where she led the team in stolen bases and |
16 | | received the team Spirit Award for being a role model; and
|
17 | | WHEREAS, Ayden O'Malley had many friends and loved to |
18 | | attend Braves games, especially the Lady Brave's basketball |
19 | | games, announcing her friends as they took the court; she |
20 | | volunteered collecting food for the food pantry, painting the |
21 | | newly remodeled Nokomis Christian Missions, helping the little |
22 | | ones shop at the Santa Store at the Winter Wonderland, and |
23 | | helping at many fundraisers for her school and church; she |

1 | | enjoyed slumber parties, music, Snapping, Starbucks Coffee, |
2 | | and hanging out with her friends, family, and cousins; she |
3 | | loved her role as aunt to her two-year old nephew, spending as |
4 | | much time with him as she could; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Since she was young, Ayden O'Malley could be found |
6 | | wearing her Nokomis Redskin cheerleading uniform, cheering |
7 | | beside her sister or in the stands cheering at her brother's |
8 | | football games; she was involved in dance classes for many |
9 | | years and especially loved Hip-Hop; she was a past member of |
10 | | several soccer teams; and
|
11 | | WHEREAS, Ayden O'Malley was preceded in death by her |
12 | | cousin, Danial Miller; and
|
13 | | WHEREAS, Ayden O'Malley is survived by her parents; her |
14 | | sister, Amber (Bryant Wright) O'Malley; her brother, Nick |
15 | | O'Malley; her nephew, Brody Wright; her grandparents, Denny and |
16 | | Doris O'Malley, Mike and Gaylyn Casey, and Larry and Gail |
17 | | Johnson; her great-grandfather, Ernie (Mary Ann) Pieper; many |
18 | | aunts, uncles, and cousins, especially Alexandra and Lauryn |
19 | | Miller, Seth Johnson, and Spencer O'Malley; and numerous |
20 | | friends, teammates, teachers, coaches, youth leaders, priests, |
21 | | and neighbors; therefore, be it

22 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL |

1 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
2 | | Ayden Noelle O'Malley, and extend our sincere condolences to |
3 | | her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
4 | | further

5 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
6 | | presented to the family of Ayden O'Malley as an expression of |
7 | | our deepest sympathy.
