SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Ludwig "Lewy" M. Finzel of Union, who 
4passed away on November 11, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lewy Finzel was born in Elgin to George and 
6Katherina (Gehringer) Finzel on September 18, 1936; he married 
7Darlene Schmidt in Marengo on June 13, 1959; he was a veteran 
8of the United States Army; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Lewy Finzel was an employee  of Local 1035 for 30 
10years and a member for 48 years; he was a former Democratic 
11precinct committeeman and an election judge for McHenry County, 
12Coral 1 Township; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Lewy Finzel was a member of the Starlight Travel 
14Group; he enjoyed woodworking, traveling, puzzles, and 
15spending time with his family; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Lewy Finzel was preceded in death by his parents; 
17his brother, Joe Finzel; and his sister, Judy Fruin; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Lewy Finzel is survived by his wife of 58 years, 
19Darlene; his sons, John (Sherry), Paul (Vicky), Peter (Jodi), 
20Randy (Amber), and Matthew Finzel; his daughters, Teresa

1(Paul)Whitman and June (Dan) Reinert; his sisters, Alice Hosey 
2and Dot VanEyke; his brother, George Finzel; his 17 
3grandchildren; and his seven great-grandchildren, plus one on 
4the way; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
7Ludwig "Lewy" M. Finzel and extend our sincere condolences to 
8his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
9further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Lewy Finzel as an expression of our 
12deepest sympathy.
