SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Antioch Township Supervisor Steve Smouse, 
4who passed away on November 5, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Steve Smouse graduated from Antioch High School in 
61970 and attended Millikin University from 1970 to 1971; he 
7graduated Worsham College in 1978 with a degree in mortuary 
8science; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Steve Smouse served as Antioch Township 
10Supervisor since 1999 and a township trustee from 1997 to 1999; 
11and
  
 
  
12    WHEREAS, Steve Smouse was president of the Antioch Hillside 
13Cemetery Association; he was a  Rescue Squad Paramedic beginning 
14in 1992 through  February 2013, continuing as licensed retired 
15member; he was a member of the Antioch Rotary Club from 1984 to 
162009 and a member of Friends of the Antioch Library; he was a 
17member of the Village of Antioch Planning Commission until 1992 
18and a former member of the Village of Antioch Arbor Day 
19Committee; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Steve Smouse was a wonderful brother, husband, and 
21father; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Antioch Township Supervisor Steve Smouse, and extend our 
4sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew 
5and loved him; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to  the family of  Steve Smouse as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
