2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Glenn H. McConnaughay of Batavia, |
4 | | formerly of Geneva, who passed away on September 12, 2017; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay was born in Bluford to James |
6 | | and Florence (Bowling) McConnaughay on February 13, 1921; he |
7 | | served in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific |
8 | | Theater during World War II as a military police officer; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay began his career as a police |
10 | | officer in 1949 and was the chief of police in Geneva for 12 |
11 | | years; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay started the Kane County Chief |
13 | | of Police Association; he was a member of American Legion Post |
14 | | 75; he loved fishing and wood working and was a devoted family |
15 | | man; and
|
16 | | WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay was preceded in death by his |
17 | | loving wife of 67 years, Mary; his son, Robert; his |
18 | | great-granddaughter, Alyssa; and his parents; and
|
19 | | WHEREAS, Glenn McConnaughay is survived by his children, |
20 | | Glenda (Dennis) Heinkel, Pat (Tim) Nelson, and LeeAnn (Lee) |
