2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
3 | | learn of the death of Chris Knapp of Danville, who passed away |
4 | | on November 12, 2016; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Chris Knapp was born in Danville to Melvin and |
6 | | June (Grubb) Feezor on December 22, 1954; she married Doug |
7 | | Knapp
at Danville First Assembly on November 17, 1973; and
|
8 | | WHEREAS, Chris Knapp finished cosmetology school before |
9 | | she even graduated high school and worked as a hair stylist for |
10 | | many years; she worked at Elite
Style & Color, J.C. Penny |
11 | | Salon, and Creative Designs in Danville; she and her husband |
12 | | established Express Packaging Service & U-Haul in Danville in |
13 | | 1996; and |
14 | | WHEREAS, Chris Knapp volunteered with many organizations, |
15 | | including Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society and |
16 | | Service International, helping provide disaster relief; she |
17 | | also
volunteered at the Danville Women's Care Clinic, where she |
18 | | loved watching the children and was deemed the
"baby whisperer" |
19 | | because she could always tell what the children needed in order |
20 | | to calm them down; and |
21 | | WHEREAS, Chris Knapp enjoyed gardening, decorating, |

1 | | shopping, and meeting new people; most of all, she was a |
2 | | cheerful giver and enjoyed countless interactions with people |
3 | | she met; and
|
4 | | WHEREAS, Chris Knapp possessed many wonderful attributes; |
5 | | her greatest one being that she lived to serve others; she |
6 | | possessed a quite and reassuring strength with her ministry of |
7 | | presence and servanthood and joined her husband in the ministry |
8 | | in 2006 in the New Life Christian Center; and
|
9 | | WHEREAS, Chris Knapp was preceded in death by her father, |
10 | | Melvin Feezor; her stepfather, Joseph Bannon; her nephew, Ryan |
11 | | Feezor; and her father-in-law,
Robert D. Knapp; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Chris Knapp is survived by her husband, Doug; her |
13 | | mother, June Feezor-Bannon; her mother-in-law, Bonnie
(Doug) |
14 | | Knapp; her children, Robert (Heather) Knapp, David Knapp, and |
15 | | Stephanie (Adam)
Sexton; her brothers, Timothy (Reta) Feezor, |
16 | | and Brian (Michelle) Feezor; her grandchildren, Tristan, |
17 | | Kylie, Harden, Kaden, Karter, Rylan, Conner, and Rhett; her |
18 | | nieces, April (Brett) Kuras, Ashley (Devon)
Meadows, and Kelsey |
19 | | and Brianne Feezor; her nephews, Daniel and Ian Feezor; and |
20 | | several great-nieces
and nephews; therefore, be it
