SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Makes appropriations to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for the following purposes: ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office; ordinary and contingent expenses of the Expungement Program; statewide training for Public Defenders; development of a Juvenile Defender Resource Center; and expenses related to federally assisted programs. Effective July 1, 2018.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The following named amounts, or so much of those amounts as may be necessary, respectively, for the objects and purposes named, are appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to meet the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Office of the State Appellate Defender:
For Personal Services...................... $17,007,600
For State Contributions to Social Security.. $1,300,500
For Contractual Services.................... $2,658,000
For Travel..................................... $35,000
For Commodities................................ $27,000
For Printing................................... $28,000
For Equipment.................................. $28,000
For EDP..................................... $1,091,700
For Telecommunications......................... $85,000
For Law Student Program........................ $65,000
Total...................................... $22,325,800
Section 10. The amount of $120,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for the ordinary and contingent expenses of the Expungement Program.
Section 15. The amount $70,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender to provide statewide training to Public Defenders under the Public Defender Training Program.
Section 20. The amount of $305,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender to develop a Juvenile Defender Resource Center.
Section 25. The amount of $150,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is appropriated from the State Appellate Defender Federal Trust Fund to the Office of the State Appellate Defender for expenses related to federally assisted programs.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2018.
