2 | | Nothing in this Section prohibits certified local health |
3 | | departments and any facility licensed by the Department from |
4 | | implementing more stringent influenza vaccination policies, |
5 | | strategies, or programs, including a mandatory health care |
6 | | personnel influenza vaccination program that contains measures |
7 | | to protect patients from potential exposure to influenza and |
8 | | improve health care personnel vaccination rates that are |
9 | | consistent with existing law and rules. |
10 | | The Department may adopt rules setting forth the |
11 | | requirements of the influenza vaccination program , along with |
12 | | exceptions for personnel who may be exempt for medical or |
13 | | religious reasons. Medical exemptions shall be consistent with |
14 | | current guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control |
15 | | and Prevention. General philosophical or moral reluctance to |
16 | | influenza vaccinations is not a sufficient basis for an |
17 | | exemption .
