1 | | AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
4 | | Section 5. The Medical Practice Act of 1987 is amended by |
5 | | changing Section 10 as follows:
|
6 | | (225 ILCS 60/10) (from Ch. 111, par. 4400-10)
|
7 | | (Section scheduled to be repealed on December 31, 2016)

8 | | Sec. 10. The
The Department shall: |
9 | | (A) Make rules for establishing reasonable minimum
|
10 | | standards of educational requirements to be observed by
|
11 | | medical, osteopathic and chiropractic colleges;
|
12 | | (B) Effectuate the policy of the State of Illinois that |
13 | | the quality of
medical training is an appropriate concern |
14 | | in the recruiting, licensing,
credentialing and |
15 | | participation in residency programs of physicians.
|
16 | | However, it is inappropriate to discriminate against any |
17 | | physician because
of national origin or geographic |
18 | | location of medical education;
|
19 | | (C) Formulate rules and regulations required for the
|
20 | | administration of this Act.
