AN ACT concerning local government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Park District Code is amended by changing |
Section 4-8 as follows:
|
(70 ILCS 1205/4-8) (from Ch. 105, par. 4-8)
|
Sec. 4-8.
Except where the president of the district is |
elected by direct
vote of the electors, the board of each park |
district shall elect from
their number a president and all |
districts shall elect a vice-president,
who shall hold their |
respective offices for one year, or until their
successors |
shall be elected. The Board shall prescribe their powers and
|
duties not inconsistent with the provisions of this code.
|
The Board shall also appoint a secretary and a treasurer, |
prescribe
their duties, and term of office and require such |
bonds as the board deems
necessary. The secretary and treasurer |
need not be members of the board, in
which case the Board may |
fix their compensation; and both offices may be
held by the |
same person. The secretary shall have power to administer oaths
|
and affirmations.

The Board may appoint an assistant secretary and an |
assistant treasurer. If the secretary or treasurer are unable |
to perform the duties of their respective offices, then the |
