AN ACT concerning State government.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The Department of Veterans Affairs Act is amended by adding Section 35 as follows:

(20 ILCS 2805/35 new)

Sec. 35. Illinois Jobs for Veterans Task Force. The Illinois Jobs for Veterans Task Force is hereby created within the Governor's Office. The Task Force shall review and prepare a report on the training received by active military service members to determine if the training applies towards or satisfies any State professional licensure requirements.

The Task Force shall include the following members:

(a) a representative from the Governor's Office, who shall serve as the chairperson of the Task Force;

(b) a representative from the Department of Military Affairs;

(c) a representative from the Department of Veterans' Affairs;

(d) a representative from the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation; and

(e) a representative from the Department of Public Health.

Appointments to the Task Force shall be made no later than 90 days after the effective date of this amendatory Act of the 96th General Assembly. Vacancies in the Task Force shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointments. Members of the Task Force shall serve without compensation.

A final report delineating the findings of the Task Force must be submitted to the General Assembly by July 1, 2010.

This Section is repealed on January 1, 2011.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
