AN ACT concerning State government.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |
Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
amended by adding Section 605-45 as follows:

(20 ILCS 605/605-45 new) |
Sec. 605-45. Economic development grants; policy |
considerations. When awarding grants for any economic |
development purpose, the Department must consider (i) |
reserving and targeting State business incentives to areas with |
high unemployment or low income and (ii) if the applicant |
seeking the grant is located in a metropolitan area, whether |
that metropolitan area meets location efficiency standards.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
becoming law.
