Section 258.5 Definitions
"Act" means the Postsecondary Workforce and Readiness Act [110 ILCS 148].
"Career Exploration Activity" has the meaning given to that term under Section 10 of the Act. Examples of a career exploration activity include, but are not limited to, worksite tours, job shadowing, career-related services, or mentorship.
"Career Pathway" means the occupational areas of agriculture, food, and natural resources; arts and communications; finance and business services; health sciences and technology; human and public services; information technology; manufacturing, engineering, technology, and trades.
"Endorsement" means the College and Career Pathway Endorsement.
"Intensive career exploration activity" has the meaning given to "intensive career exploration experience" under Section 10 of the Act. Intensive career exploration activities are structured student experiences, such as a career exploration camp/day, that provides students with the opportunity to explore various occupations relating to a specific Endorsement area with hands-on training and orientation activities.
"School Code" means 105 ILCS 5.
"State Board" means the State Board of Education.
"Supervised Career Development Experience" has the meaning given to that term under Section 10 of the Act.
"Team-based Challenge" has the meaning given to that term under Section 10 of the Act.
"Work-based Learning" means sustained interactions with industry or community professionals in real workplace settings, to the extent practicable, or simulated environments at an educational institution that foster in-depth, firsthand engagement with the tasks required in each career field and that are aligned to curriculum and instruction. |
