AN ACT concerning regulation.
|
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
represented in the General Assembly:
|
Section 5. The Illinois Insurance Code is amended by |
adding Section 356z.61 as follows:
|
(215 ILCS 5/356z.61 new) |
Sec. 356z.61. Coverage for children with neuromuscular, |
neurological, or cognitive impairment. A group or individual |
policy of accident and health insurance amended, delivered, |
issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2025 shall provide |
coverage for therapy, diagnostic testing, and equipment |
necessary to increase quality of life for children who have |
been clinically or genetically diagnosed with any disease, |
syndrome, or disorder that includes low tone neuromuscular |
impairment, neurological impairment, or cognitive impairment.
