SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 


    For fiscal years 2025 and 2026, appropriates $3,500,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary, from the General Revenue Fund to the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a grant to the Joliet Area Historical Museum for expenses associated with the restoration of the property formerly operated as the Joliet Correctional Center. Provides that the appropriations may be used for prior year costs. Effective immediately, except that the appropriation for fiscal year 2026 is effective July 1, 2025.

1    AN ACT concerning appropriations.
 
2    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3represented in the General Assembly:

ARTICLE 1

5    Section 5. "AN ACT concerning appropriations", Public Act
6103-0589, approved June 5, 2024, is amended by adding Section
7835 to Article 52 as follows:
 
8    (P.A. 103-0589, Article 52, Section 835 new)
9    Sec. 835. The sum of $3,500,000, or so much thereof as may
10be necessary, is appropriated from the General Revenue Fund to
11the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity for a
12grant to the Joliet Area Historical Museum for expenses
13associated with the restoration of the property formerly
14operated as the Joliet Correctional Center.

3    Section 998. Appropriations authorized in Articles 1 and 2

6    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
7becoming law; except that Article 2 takes effect July 1, 2025.
