| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION | ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate the American Business | ||||||
| 4 | Club of Springfield on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; | ||||||
| 5 | and | ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The American Business Club of Springfield is a | ||||||
| 7 | not-for-profit organization tied to National AMBUCS, Inc., | ||||||
| 8 | where all members are dedicated to inspiring mobility and | ||||||
| 9 | independence for people with disabilities; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, The American Business Club of Springfield is the | ||||||
| 11 | largest AMBUCS chapter in the nation, consisting of 300 | ||||||
| 12 | individuals; and | ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, The American Business Club of Springfield has | ||||||
| 14 | operated the concessions at the Illinois State Fair Grandstand | ||||||
| 15 | since 1954, and the organization has also managed admissions | ||||||
| 16 | and parking for the Illinois State Fair since 2004; and | ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Through its relationship with the State of | ||||||
| 18 | Illinois and other fundraising efforts, the American Business | ||||||
| 19 | Club of Springfield has dedicated tens of thousands of hours | ||||||
| 20 | of community service and donated over $5,000,000 towards | ||||||
| 21 | providing Amtrykes to children, adults, and veterans, endowing | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | scholarships for therapists, awarding grants to dozens of | ||||||
| 2 | local community organizations, and providing support to | ||||||
| 3 | numerous other deserving projects at the local, state, and | ||||||
| 4 | national level; and | ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, The American Business Club of Springfield, | ||||||
| 6 | chartered on January 10, 1925, will be celebrating its l00th | ||||||
| 7 | year on January 10, 2025; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 9 | HUNDRED FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 10 | we congratulate the American Business Club of Springfield on | ||||||
| 11 | the occasion of its 100th anniversary, and we commend the | ||||||
| 12 | organization for its accomplishments, unequaled charitable | ||||||
| 13 | giving, and the selfless contributions of its members; and be | ||||||
| 14 | it further | ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 16 | presented to the American Business Club of Springfield as an | ||||||
| 17 | expression of our esteem and respect. | ||||||
