SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

105 ILCS 5/24-3.10 new

Amends the School Code. Provides that any public school employee who is a member of a statewide association and is appointed to a State board, advisory council, committee, commission, or task force to represent the association in State work may spend up to 10 days during a school term representing the association in State work. Provides that no deduction of wages may be made for such absence. Effective immediately.

AN ACT concerning education.

Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:

Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section 24-3.10 as follows:

(105 ILCS 5/24-3.10 new)

Sec. 24-3.10. Attendance for appointed State work. Any public school employee who is a member of a statewide association and is appointed to a State board, advisory council, committee, commission, or task force to represent the association in State work may spend up to 10 days during a school term representing the association in State work. No deduction of wages may be made for such absence.

Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon becoming law.
